Looking a little at the contractor's part, what would you expect from them? Well, first of all, we will make sure they are well aware of any hazards in the confined space they are entering. Contractors must make sure they follow proper procedures. They will have to get permission to enter that confined space. They need to supply their own safety attendant. However, if we are having multiple companies entering that confined space, then we can agree, one safety attendant. It is recommended that contractors should also have their own air monitors as part of their personal protective equipment. And what is good practice is, once the job has been completed, there will be a review of it. What went well? What didn't go so well? What could we do differently?
